About Wild Botanica

Wild Botanica was founded in 2023 by nature photographer and California native, Alison Brown. After working at the intersection of corporate sustainability and marketing for nearly two decades, she decided to found a new business that incorporated some of her other passions: travel and self-care.

Practicing Self-Care

Despite visiting close to thirty countries, our founder and CEO's favorite place in the world for healing and self-care is still Bali, Indonesia. The only Hindu island of Indonesia is well-known for its magnificent rice fields, kind people, and beautiful temples. Bali is home to over 20,000 temples, and many of these temples have been built around sacred springs and involve engaging in a water purification ritual called Melukat, in order to cleanse the body, mind, and spirit.

"The last time I was in Bali in May 2022, I finally got to experience a water purification ceremony after seeing it carried out many times over the years. It was profoundly healing for me, and it cemented my belief that immeasurable healing power can be found in the ritual of bathing," said Wild Botanica founder and CEO, Alison Brown.

Alison's inspiration for Wild Botanica is rooted in her desire to make healing accessible by incorporating ingredients from ancient practices such as Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine and unlocking the ultimate relaxation with the best ingredients.

Focus on Anti-Aging

We spend so much time and energy focused on anti-aging beauty products for our face, that we forget about the rest of our body. That's why many of the ingredients found in Wild Botanica bath soaks have incredible potential when it comes to anti-aging effects. This is due to the high level of nutrients and antioxidants, which help fight free radicals and can stimulate the production of collagen.

Incorporating Sustainability

With professional roots in sustainability, Wild Botanica's founder and CEO decided to source the majority of the ingredients from vendors located along the West Coast of the US. She wanted to make sure ingredients were sourced locally as possible to reduce the company's carbon footprint, but also to maintain close oversight on quality.

Intentional Ingredients

So many bath salts on the market also use synthetic fragrances or are mass produced in international factories with little to no quality control.

"Sustainability is very important to me, and so is my integrity. I couldn't put something out in the market that I hadn't formulated myself, using ingredients that I know are not harmful," said Alison.

Each Wild Botanica bath soak is scented with a proprietary essential blend that will transport you to a spa around the world, inspired by some of our founder and CEO's favorite regions. Each bath blend also contains dried herbs and flowers, in addition to other unique ingredients, such as schisandra berry powder.

Schisandra berry powder, known for its adaptogenic properties, has been used for over 2,000 years for its ability to promote vitality and help the body to adapt to stress. Packed with potent antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, Traditional Chinese Medicine folklore says that schisandra berry can "calm the heart and quiet the spirit."

In all Wild Botanica bath soaks, each ingredient has been chosen intentionally to promote healing and relaxation, and we thank you for being a part of our self-care community.
